Day 54 - Mar 23. A drive to Milford Sound then a stiff climb to the Gertrude Saddle. Hot and sunny after a cold night. Milford Sound, the road end, is basically a huge car and coach park for the tour boats. We didn't stay long - apart from the classic view of Mitre Peak there wasn't much to detain us, though the cafe did their best with extremely slow service.
